Blue Out for Juvenile Diabetes
November 18, 2015
Student Council will have a Blue Out, Friday, Nov. 20 in an effort to raise awareness for Juvenile Diabetes Awareness month.
“I think it’s important to bring awareness not only to diseases and illnesses but things people deal with on a daily basis,” nurse Jan Carpenter said. “It’s really important.”
Teachers will pass out blue ribbons in Advocate classes and RNN will show a segment on Juvenile Diabetes Awareness month.
“Diabetes is something you can’t see,” clinical health assistant Pauletta Ulary said. “Unlike cancer or some other illnesses, there are no physical symptoms. It’s a difficult thing because you have to watch what you eat.”
