Rouse Union meeting Nov. 5 or 6

Jordan Buie, Editor in Chief

Rouse Union’s monthly meeting is this week, either afterschool Nov. 5 at 4:30 p.m. or before school Nov. 6 at 7: 30 a.m. in the lecture hall.

Rouse Union’s goal is to focus on the enrichment of students learning and fostering a collaboration between teachers, parents, and community members. This month’s meeting will focus on “A Day in the Life of a 21st Century Learner,” exploring topics connected to today’s classroom, curriculum and delivery of instruction and how to provide skills to prepare them for the future.

In the inaugural meeting last month, they talked about how parents can help students in the areas of attendance, achievement and creating lifelong learners. At these meetings they also discuss obstacles that they encounter in helping their students with routines, non-negotiables, monitoring their students’ progress and bridging classroom lessons with the things they do at home.
