UPDATE Oct. 30, 2:30 p.m.: Due to inclement weather, Leander ISD has canceled all afterschool activities Friday, Oct. 30. Trunk or Treat is not being rescheduled.

Ghosts and goblins, superheroes and goddesses, monsters and princesses will all descend on the parking lot Friday, Oct. 30.

Hosted by Student Council, the annual Trunk or Treat event provides a safe place for children to trick or treat. Clubs, sports and some community members will set up booths or trunks that offer candy, games and prizes.

Each group comes up with their own theme, accessorizing and dressing up in costumes to match. Groups also create simple games for kids to play and often create Halloween or theme-related sets for their booth. Theatre, Royals, cheerleaders and RRADD are all groups participating.

“It was so much fun helping out at Trunk or Treat last year,” junior Ashtyn Thomas said. “The kids are great and it was nice to help out the community.”

Children from elementary schools and the general community are invited to the annual event. Trunk or Treat will take place in the front school parking lot from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. If the weather continues to be raining, Trunk or Treat will move into the main building on the first floor.
