The Heart of Texas Lab Rescue  are looking for volunteers, those in Green Cords or need community service hours to help train, walk, clean and play with Labradors. Freshman Ilana Williams was one of a handful of students who went through the training last weekend.

“If you really like animals and you want to do something with animals when you’re old, it would be a good idea to go because they tell you how treat the animals,” Williams said. “It was really fun, and I liked seeing all the animals.”

The second orientation is this Sunday, Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. Additional training opportunities will also be offered at future dates. For more information, email Audrey at [email protected].
