The cross country team headed to Del Valle for the Westlake Invitational Friday, Oct. 9 for a night race like FNL.

Sophomore James Tisdale was seventh for the varsity boys while senior Mitchell Ballis and sophomore Ben Escobar finished 12^th and 25^th to help the team take fifth overall.

The varsity girls were third overall with three top 10 finishes, senior Haley Timmons took third, freshman Emily Forster and junior Ashton Hilsenteger finished ninth and 10^th. In the sub-varsity races, Marcus Spurgeon won the freshman race.

“It was fun to get out and race and get an idea of where I am in my training cycle,” Timmons said. “It’s also been great seeing how much the team has improved compared to where we were at last this last year.”
