The Royals performed at LISD’s annual iDance, Wednesday and Thursday, Oct. 7-8. The event, which included all five high school dance teams, was held at Leander High School.
The Royals had officer routines and three team dances, including a contemporary dance, a hip hop performance and an Indiana Jones-inspired dance. The productions were mixed throughout the night with the other schools’ performances.
“I think it’s an unique opportunity, because no other districts do that,” captain Jordan Lafevers said. “We’re probably the only district that does that in Texas, but it’s nice to do that, it’s nice to get all the teams together.”
The Royals changed outfits to match each song, but returned to their traditional uniform for the finale with the other high schools.
“It’s cool because the schools are completely different so you get an idea of each [with the] dances they do,” senior Harlee Schneider said. “Each were completely different, completely different vibe because it’s like they all have something they’re really good at. That makes me want to say ‘I want to be that.’ It’s cool, it’s a good variety.”
