Unknown, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, is a decent suspense thriller with a spruce of action. Dr. Martin Harris (Liam Neeson) is on a trip to Berlin with his wife for a biotech conference, but upon arriving at the hotel, is forced to rush back to the airport when he realizes he forgot an important briefcase. Pressuring the cab driver to step on it, she loses control of the vehicle and the duo plunge into an icy river. Knocked unconscious, the driver bravely saves Dr. Harris who ends up in a German hospital. When he awakes, he realizes his wife has not been in search of him and he pursues her instead. When he finds her at the conference, she is with another man who claims that he is Dr. Martin Harris and neither recognize nor know who he is. In search for his identity and some answers, Dr. Harris, accompanied by the cab driver that saved him from drowning, are in for a ride. A plot similar to The Bourne Identity, Unknown is full of escaping assassins, wild car chases, foggy pasts, and a twist that slowly reveals itself. Though it doesn’t have the most original theme ever, Unknown is good if you’re in the mood for a decent suspense thriller.
