The Board of Trustees recognized Rouse as No Place for Hate campus along with 36 other schools, Thursday, Sept. 10 at the LISD Board meeting. C2 members, along with sponsors Andrea Breeden and Jamie Maples and principal John Graham, were on hand for the award.

“It feels great to be recognized by the district,” C2 sophomore Maria Gonzalez Nunez said.

To earn distinction for a No Place for Hate school from the Anti-Defamation League, C2 participated in three activities that showed Rouse students can comprehend, accept and sign the Resolution of Respect.

“[As one activity] We did True Beauty, where you wear no make-up to show that girls are beautiful last year,” Nunez said. “Because of that, we got recognized.”

C2 was given a banner that will be hung up in the cafeteria for the achievement.
