Simmons named Bush’s Chicken Player of the Week, nominated for another POTW

Senior Marquis Simmons was named the Bush’s Chicken iHSFAN Player of the Week for Week 3 after his offensive performance in the Leander win. Simmons scored three times in the non-district win, including 3- and 7-yard runs and a 56-yard score to help the Raiders take a 31-3 halftime lead.
Simmons was the leading rusher, racking up 270 rushing yards on 32 carries. He also had three catches in the 38-24 win that gave the Raiders their first win on the season.
Simmons washonored with a plaque Wednesday morning at 9 a.m. and the football practice fields.
“It feels really good to know that my hard work has paid off and got to be recognized,” Simmons said.
