The theatre department will put on their One-Act Play, To Kill a Mockingbird, March 25 in the auditorium at 7 p.m. Admission will be $5 at the door, and this will be the only public performance of this play.
The OAP cast will perform at zone competition, March 29. The top two plays will advance to the district contest, April 1.
The original play has been cut down for the performance in order to make the play less than 40 minutes long in compliance with OAP rules. The students work hours at a time in order to be ready for this competition and in hopes to win.
“UIL absolutely changes lives,” director Stephanie Smith said. “Through the friendships you make and the work you all put in together, in the end you become a family that’s fighting for something.”
