Project Grad offers a safe way to celebrate graduation

PGRADProject Graduation will start Saturday, June 6 at 10 p.m. and will end 5 a.m. Sunday. The night-long party is for graduating seniors and is free.

“[I’m excited for] all of the dancing and seniors gathering together for one night of fun,” senior Daniel Guidry said.

The theme this year is beach party, and it will include a hypnotist, a DJ and reggae band, mechanical bull and a foam pit. Everyone that attends will win a prize, and some of the bigger prizes include TVs, laptops and gift cards.

“It’s one of the best things that happens to them senior year,” assistant principal Robert Syner said. “It’s an opportunity for them to see the school one last time, and it’s an opportunity to spend a fun evening with their friends and to say goodbye to their senior year.”

Food and activities will be provided all night. When there isn’t a performance, the auditorium will play movies, and the gyms will be open to play basketball.

“It’s one of those things that if they don’t go, they’ll really wish they had,” Syner said. “Its lots of fun, lots of things going on and lots of prizes to win.”

Registration forms are in the front office and on the Project Grad website. They need to be filled out and returned to the wooden box in the office as soon as possible.
