Prepping for Prom: a timeline of what to do to prepare
May 6, 2015
Five Weeks Before: Ladies, it’s time to go buy yourself a dress. Other schools are mere days away from their prom so dresses are going to start flying off the shelves. Gentlemen, now would probably be a good time to start thinking about promposals if you haven’t already.
Four Weeks Before: Boys, it’s time to start promposing. Pick up a bouquet, and get prepped for whatever it is you plan to do for your lovely lady. If you treat her nice enough, she might just say yes.
Three Weeks Before: Ladies, if you’re planning on having your hair and makeup done, it’s about time to start setting appointments with nail salons, hair stylists and makeup artists. Don’t forget to plan ahead so that you can make it home in time to put on your dress. Guys, don’t forget to schedule a reservation at a nice restaurant.
Two Weeks Before: It’s time to put in corsage orders for your lovely date. Make sure you specify the color of the flowers, the type of flowers, and the style of the corsage. The florists anywhere you go are going to be busy with multiple proms so make sure you specify which day prom is.
The Day Before
6 p.m.: Both ladies and gentlemen, make sure you have all of your outfit laid out and ready to go. Make sure your suit is ironed and your dress is out of its bag so that they will both ready for a wonderful evening.
The Morning of

If you plan to just put on a pretty coat of polish be sure to use some Vaseline around the skin area to keep the polish from staining your cuticles.
2 p.m.: Guys, it’s time to go pick up that beautiful corsage for your even more beautiful date. Whether you order from H-E-B or a florist, make sure the flowers are pretty and done just the way you like them so that you can put them on your date’s wrist.
4:45 p.m.: Girls, Go to your make-up appointment later in the day, so that you don’t risk potentially ruining that glittering eyeshadow or ruby lips. If you plan to do the make-up yourself, make sure your straightener or curling wand is heating and prepped for hair styling.
5:30 p.m.: Girls, Ulta or any other hair salon would be a great place to get a beautiful hairstyle for your night in style. If you don’t have the time or the desire to go out and have your hair beautified, whip out those curlers, straighteners, and wands because it’s time to make your hair glamorous. Whether you want to be a chilling ice queen or a saucy fire goddess, the hair is going to tie the whole piece together.
The Evening of:
6 p.m.: It’s finally time to slip into your dress or suit. Whether you chose a poofy princess dress or a silky evening gown, a dashing white suit or a charming black suit, you should start dressing to impress. Parents will want pictures and you still have a dinner reservation to make.
