Choir students compete at UIL Solo contest

Several choir students competed in the UIL Solo contest, Feb. 21.

Thirteen students, Lauren Carpenter, Destiny Contreras-Loerakker, Kayla Freeman, Alexandra Keefe, Jordan Kuzmack, Justine Linley, Meghan Pangonas, Anna Robinson, Shawn Smallets, Sarah Spitler, Natasha Straite, Ashley Tysor and Terry Wilkie, received “excellent” ratings for their solos.

Eleven students, Joshua Brown, Joshua Corliss, Noah Gose, Nyeira Leonard, Nate Lunceford, Asha Macfoy, Keaton Pugh, Melissa Redwine, Ashlyn Ross, Daisy Stebbins, Khourtni Thompson, earned “superior” ratings for their solos.
Three ensembles, Alex Keefe, Terry Wilkie, Ashley Tysor also earned a “superior” rating.

Moving onto state, Connor Neidhammer advances with two piano solos, as well as nine soloists, Mikayla Calhoun, Shey Covington, Audrey Dickerson, Kiersten Dunn, James Jones, Chandler Krause, Hope Rasmussen, Emma Seymour, Cole Shuffield who advance with “superior” ratings. These students will compete at the State Solo contests in May.
