Spikes check. Trainers, check. Sweats, check.Watch, check. Racers? Check! All the necessities that were needed for the rouse cross country team to run their district meet at Old Settlers Park.
“We went in knowing it would be tough, and we got beat,” coach Kelly Thompson said. “We didn’t take advantage of our opportunities.”
Our overall team results ranged from third to sixth place. The junior varsity girls placed third with
sophomore McKylie Caligian finishing third for the team with a personal record of hdgs. The varsity girls were right behind them finishing fourth with freshman Helena Castle advancing to districts. Junior varsity boys ranked fifth with sophomore Zach Stevens placing thirteenth and finishing with a time of 18:52. Fowling behind them the varsity boys finished in 28th place with Sophomore Andy Mask running a time of 18:06.
“The junior varsity teams raced well and did well, but I feel we were outnumbered,” Thompson said.
