Show Choir

Lights, camera, singing, dancing. The voices of the Rouse Show Choir fill the air with Christmas cheer and energy at their first performance closing the choir’s holiday concert on Dec. 2.

The Show Choir sung “Christmas is the Best Time of the Year” with choreographed dance moves and harmonized singing.

“It challenges me in ways that I didn’t think it could,” junior Jordan Sandoval said. “We were able to include our own type of choreography. You can really see everyone’s personal style.”

Unlike normal choir, show choir performs more contemporary music like pop, while dancing and acting.

“It’s very energetic and lively,” Sandoval said. “We have to do a lot of work but since we all love music we are all pumped up.”

A common misconception about Show Choir is that it’s just like the hit television show “Glee” with people breaking out in song and new life changing drama every week.

“It’s not as dramatic, but it’s just as fun,” sophomore Sierra Hernandez said. “We have lots of fun times together like one big family.”

Show Choir is a group with an atmosphere that is warm and inviting. Working together with their combined love of music helps to bring everyone in the show choir closer together.

“I recommend joining,” Hernandez said. “It’s lots of fun. It’s a good way to make a lot of friends.”
