Who’s house? Rouse House! Who’s house? Rouse House! Who’s house? Rouse House! Go Raiders Go!

The Raiders take the field this year for their first-ever varsity season. They began the season Aug. 27 at Liberty Hill where they lost 34-14. They followed it up with back-to-back home games against Bryan Rudder (63-27 L) and Hendrickson (34-21 L).

“It’s going well and of course there are adjustments to be made, but they’re growing pains,” head coach Mann said “We need to continue to learn to adapt to the situations as varsity football.”

With three games under their belt, Mann is proud of the effort the team has put forth.

“Getting to go out and play as varsity is an honor within itself and we’re competitive,” Mann said “We have the capacity to be a very good football team and they never quit. That’s all a coach can ask for.”

The team takes on Lampasas Sept. 17 and has a bye Sept. 24. District begins Oct. 1 against Marble Falls.

The Rouse Raider softball team has been doing well this season with 17 wins. Our Raider team consists of 14 girls total; 10 freshmen and 4 sophomores. Softball practice, at times can be tough, but seems to being paying off.
Some days the girls focus on skills such as catching fly balls, ground balls, and hitting. Other days, the girls work on team situations. “The best part about playing softball is competing and being with your teammates and friends.” exclaims Coach Southern, the softball coach.
The girls are working hard this season even though it is a challenge to be playing varsity teams. But that is also forcing the girls to step their game up faster.
