Rachel Sloan’s Bio
Junior Rachel Sloan is in her third year on the newspaper staff. Sloan began
writing after spending only one semester in Journalism 1, advancing into the newspaper staff as one of only two freshmen added to the staff. Sloan prefers writing feature stories, but she also enjoys editing stories and pages. At UIL district last March, she took second in Feature Writing and 4th for News Writing. She also enjoys French, theatre and community service. Outside of school she has very little free time, but enjoys talking with her friends and watching movies.
Jessica Garrison’s Bio
This is senior Jessica Garrison’s first year on Newspaper staff. She has been writing poems and short stories for as long as she can remember, and is
excited to join others who share the same passion.
This year she looks forward to writing columns, reviews, briefs, and just about anything she can get her hands on! She would also like to include her love for photography by helping take pictures, as well as delivering papers and helping out with fundraisers.
In her spare time she enjoys photography, dancing, shopping and hanging out with friends. Garrison is currently working on a novel about a twisted love story that is told in colonial times. In addition to Newspaper, Garrison is also taking Photo Journalism, Interior Design and American Sign Language.
Keely Wirries’ Bio
Sophomore Keely Wirries is a first -year staff writer who loves to write baseball
and track stories along with columns. Besides Newspaper, she is taking French I, Business Management, RAP, Pre-AP English II, Pre-AP Algebra II, AP World History and Chemistry. Her extracurricular activities include track and FCA and she volunteers at St. Margret Mary’s Catholic Church as a teacher aid during Sunday school. Wirries also avidly plays piano with classes every Sunday afternoon in Liberty Hill. She is looking forward to making an addition to an already excellent newspaper staff.
Stephanie Hofmann’s Bio
Junior Stephanie Hofmann is a second-year staffer that loves to write random
profile stories, because she thinks it fun to find out what everyone’s story is. When Stephanie is not writing for the paper she is reading or writing her own stories. She is also on the Golf team, in Key Club, NHS and Destination Imagination, which went to Globals last year. Stephanie is a smiley person, who loves to sing and be with friends.
Shelly Spencer’s Bio
Junior Shelly Jetonne Spencer is currently involved in her second year on the
Raider Rumbler staff. Along with Newspaper, she is taking all Pre-AP and AP classes as well as Theatre III and American Sign Language II. Outside of school, Spencer is involved actively in her church teaching Sunday school, as a part of the church’s Student Leadership Team, youth worship band and feeds the homeless once a month.
Kristina Jingling’s Bio
Sophomore Kristina Jingling joined the newspaper staff in the fall of her
freshman year, but has an extensive journalism background. Jingling started writing for kids’ newspapers when she was 9 and then joined her online school’s newspaper, News and in a Click, in Florida. She became the first Photo Editor and then the youngest Editor in Chief.
Last year at Rouse, Jingling wrote reviews, feature and sports stories. In journalism academic competition, she received 1st place in Feature Writing at the Westwood UIL meet and fourth place in Feature Writing at the UIL District meet.
Along with newspaper, she is on the Broadcast staff, plays Lady Raider Flag Football, and enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
Gloriana Stolle’s Bio
Gloriana Stolle is a junior at Rouse High school. This is her second and a half year on the Raider Rumbler staff. She likes writing columns, reviews, and quote sidebars. On staff, she especially enjoys taking pictures and delivering papers. Other than newspaper, she is in Photojournalism, which she greatly enjoys as well. Other an newspaper and PhotoJ, she is also taking English and Speech at ACC, along with Physics, Algebra 2, and Spanish 2, so she has quite the workload this year. Outside of school, she enjoys listening to music, reading, and occasionally writing on her blog. She is looking forward to this year!
Nick Hage’s Bio
Junior Nick Hage is in his second year of being on the Newspaper staff. Nick
joined the staff after writing stories in Photojournalism last year and enjoys writing sports stories. Besides Newspaper Nick is also a part of the Swim team, participates in Theater and takes AP US history, and AP English 3. Nick is an awesome guy that just loves to hang out with friends
