Two juniors participated in the National Junior Classical League, one placed in two competitions while the other organized a spirit rally at the end of July. Junior Glen Smith placed seventh in Dramatic Interpretation and eight in Costume Contest in the nation. Junior Hayleigh Bardin, a state officer in the Texas Junior Classical League, organized a spirit rally of more than 350 students.

“It wasn’t difficult to organize it,” Bardin said. “But when we were passing everything out, we ran into some issues because it was hard to pass out 350 things and the amount of time we were allotted.”

Bardin and Smith stayed at Trinity University in San Antonio for a week with 1500 other students from all over America. The NJCL is the second largest youth organization in the USA with over 45,000 members.
Rouse will host the Area FJCL competition in February.
