The varsity baseball team wrapped up their season with a loss against Hendrickson, April 23.

“The season was really fun, he had a great time,” junior Colton Mitchell said. “Our record definitely didn’t show how talented we truly were, it just didn’t work out quite the way we wanted to. I still had a really good time and I enjoyed it.”

The team finished the season 0-14 in district and 3-23 overall. Games against Pflugerville, McNeil and Hendrickson were tough losses by just one run.

“There was some close games we had,” senior Morgan Vest said. “We look back and we know there are some things we could have done better to get the win, but it just didn’t play out like that.”

The team has several returning lettermen that will see the Raiders move back to 5A next season.

“I think they’re going to do pretty well next year,” Vest said. “We had a lot of underclassmen on the team and a lot of juniors, so they got that varsity experience and I think they’re going do great things.”
