Bathrooms Between classes, during lunch, and even when school is not in session, the bathrooms are constantly in use and complained about. The hand dryers, for instance, don’t really do much. You’d have to stand with your hands under the weak air for a good two minutes for them to properly dry, you’re better off wiping your hands on your clothes. Also, the toilet paper doesn’t get refilled as much as needed, to where you have to ask your friend or some random person if they can hand you some. But along those lines, sometimes it’s the students’ fault. A boys’ bathroom is occasionally locked because of some unnecessary bad behavior. Life stories written on the stall doors and make-up ending up on the walls in the girl’s bathroom is not cute. That might be a great shade of lipstick, but please keep it off the bathroom wall. Halfway Through the Year Time just needs to slow down. Just think, in the same amount of time it took to get here, the seniors will be graduating, testing will commence, juniors will be looking into colleges, and our 2015-2016 school year will be coming to a close. Though there are a couple silver linings, Prom, sports banquets, the faculty basketball game, and of course looking forward to summer break. But just look out for the incoming freshmen. Grade: B

End of Semester Advocates The Advocate schedule for the last two weeks of the semester is frustrating. STARR retakes have been all week, leaving students only with Advocate on Friday. With finals less than week away, this doesn’t make sense. Why is Advocate canceled when students need it most? Even if some teachers are helping with testing, couldn’t there Advocate classes being temporarily mixed into other teachers? Student would prefer to have a crowded Advocate than none at all. And because next week is mid-terms, there’s no Advocate on Tuesday or Wednesday. Students who are failing are going to need to find creative ways to improve their grade outside of class. Advocate is a life safer to the students of the school, and right when we need it the most, it’s gone. Grade: D

Mid-term Rules The rules for this year’s mid-terms are kind of bittersweet. The fact that we get out early on both Thursday and Friday is a Christmas miracle. After a long four days of testing it’s nice to just go home and rest and take two weeks to yourself. But on the downside, unlike finals, you cannot exempt mid-terms. Sorry all you over-achievers, but you’ll have to wait until finals for your hard work to pay off by not being required to take the exams. Grade: B
